In 2018, T-Mobile took a big step forward by concluding its first long-term sustainability strategy; Power Purchase Agreement (ECA). After publishing an RFP looking for a partner for renewable energy, the wireless market leader chose Enel Green Power as the first organization it partnered with to achieve its sustainability goals. The solution is a 160 MW virtual EA in Enel Green Power`s Red Dirt wind farm, an agreement that not only promotes the company`s commitment to renewable energy, but is also sustainable for the end result. Sustainability is becoming a central element of global businesses, both to ensure that companies minimize their impact on the environment and to foster long-term growth. T-Mobile launched renewable energies as early as 2018 as part of its sustainability strategy and committed to using 100% renewable energy by 2021. To achieve its ambitious goal, T-Mobile partnered with Enel Green Power to acquire 160 megawatts of capacity from the Red Dirt Wind Project in Oklahoma: enough renewable energy to power more than 97,000 U.S. homes. For more information on T-Mobile`s leading clean energy initiatives, see t-mobile.com/responsibility/sustainability. Red Dirt was our first wind farm to be operational, and it was great to work with Enel Green Power, especially as we went through the steep learning curve that comes with a first big renewable energy sales contract. As a 60,000-hectare wind farm, which produces 650,000 MWh of energy per year for us, this project was a first step towards achieving our goal of 100% renewable energy in just three years – which we are on the right track. Sept. 27 (Renewables Now) – U.S. Telecommunications T-Mobile US Inc (NASDAQ:TMUS) has entered into five new contracts for the purchase of electricity from solar and wind farms, fulfilling 95 percent of its re100 commitment to use 100 percent renewable energy by 2021, it announced Thursday.
